We had some nice, calm showers move through late last night. It was the kind of rain you can leave the windows open and enjoy listening too as you fall asleep (exactly what I did). Today is going to be off and on showers and some thunderstorms. Some storms may be severe. According to the models, we are on the edge of the possibility of severe storms stretching from Anderson County towards more western counties. We can also expect to receive an inch or so of rainfall, some heavy showers. The ground is saturated increasing the possibility of flash floods. Highs should reach mid to lower 70's. There may be a few lingering showers into early Saturday morning, but by the afternoon skies should clear up and highs will reach around 80. It will be hot and humid next week with highs in the mid to upper 80's with the possibility of some late afternoon storms as the week progresses. Might be a good time to bust out the kiddie pool!
Here's some video I shot last Thursday (May 13th) from our back door looking out. If you listen you can hear the hail hitting the grill. It was mostly pea sized hail. Sorry for the grainy quality...
And yes, Matthew was on my hip. He's going to be my little weather man.
Have a great Friday everyone and thanks for stopping by!
