It's Friday in the Bluegrass and spring is in the air which can mean only one thing... the possibility of some severe weather.
First let's recap last weekend's weather. Those storms produced several confirmed tornadoes and this time the National Weather Service was on the ball. Along with the tornado threat we saw large amounts of rainfall, recorded 3.1" at my house, and a good deal of flooding.
That leads us to the threat for some more flooding this weekend with some models predicting upwards of 2" area wide. A cold front will move through the area Saturday-Sunday bringing with it chances for some thunderstorms, some of which may be severe. Sunday temps will bottom out in the low 40's and we may even see some flakes on the tail end of the front. Hopefully that will be the last time this year!
If you have some weather pics you want to share send them our way at westoflexweather@yahoo.com and we'll post. I snapped this one while waiting behind a school bus on Hwy 62 around Milner. Funny how you can appreciate things more in the early sunlight.
And here's a look at the radar. I will update as needed. Until then I'm going fishing!! Have a great weekend everyone.
