Here we go again...

Wow, can you say repeat? While rain totals here in Lawrenceburg haven't been as significant as our neighbors, especially Frankfort, it has still been a soggy rainy day. Here's a look at rain totals for Kentucky over the last 7 days (April 17-24)-

Along with this rain we've had several rounds of severe thunderstorms spawning multiple funnel clouds and several tornado touchdowns. Things aren't looking to improve anytime soon. In fact, some models are suggesting perhaps another 5-10" of rain for northern and western parts of the state between tonight and Wednesday. We will have several rounds of severe thunderstorms as well as the front parked along the Ohio River doesn't seem to be budging.

It will be an interesting week and I'll be keeping an eye on the radar. I will update as I hear warnings/watches on my twitter account @peachybug
Please remember that flash flooding can occur with very little warning. If you encounter high water find another route. You can't judge the depth of water rushing over a roadway easily and it takes as little as 2 feet of water to float a vehicle and sweep it away (just 6" of water to knock you off your feet).
Keep your NOAA weather radios going. Have a great week!
